Tone Charts

Are due on Friday, February 8. The 1 inch squares should be in spectral order with the pure hues on top and pure gray on bottom. You need to have a total of 9 vertical steps including the pure hue and pure gray. Remember to maintain the normal value relationships between the spectral hues.

You don't need to bring painting supplies on Friday, but be sure to have something to write in and with.

Here's the link to Purl Soho, the textile site I was talking about in class. There are so many exciting design ideas. I encourage you to explore and think in terms of design, color, line, etc:

Piet Mondrian, Composition with Gray and Light Brown, 1918

Spectral is ROYGBV. Don't worry about the grays being in value order. Try to maintain NORMAL VALUE relationships between the hues.
